ACA 2012 Teaching and Learning Institute

All full time ACA member faculty and administrators are eligible to participate in the Teaching and Learning Institute (TLI) at Brevard College, Brevard, NC.  Please keep in mind that in order to participate, one must be nominated by their campus Chief Academic Officer.  The tabs above provide more information regarding the details on the tracks we offer, how to apply/register, and frequently asked questions.  It is strongly recommend that you review these tabs before applying for TLI.

2012 Teaching and Learning Mini-Grants

We are pleased to announce that four Teaching and Learning mini-grants in the amount of $2200 each are available to teams composed of four or more faculty members from an ACA member institution enrolled in the 2012 Teaching and Learning Institute mentioned above.  The mini-grant will help provide resources needed for faculty to enhance teaching and learning practices on their home campuses and up to $700 of the award may be used to support team registration fees for the Institute. Priority will be given to projects that address topics to be presented at the Institute including active learning strategies, classroom assessment, and integrative learning.

Eligibility:

  • Must be enrolled at the 2012 Teaching and Learning Institute
  • Agrees to present their work at either the 2012 or 2013 ACA Summit (full payout of the award depends on which Summit is chosen)

A complete application requires:

  • A complete online application identifying each team member.
  • A one page proposal outlining goals and needs of the project as well as how success will be determined and results will be communicated to others.
  • Letter of recommendation from the institution's Chief Academic Officer sent electronically to apply@acaweb.org. Letters should be on letterhead and emailed in a PDF format.
